2006 Community AIDS Walk and 1st Annual 5K Run for Awareness

After some fits and starts, our 2006 event has come to a close.  This year due to construction at the Daniel Morgan Middle School we moved our event to the Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy on the Winchester Medical Center campus, which allowed for a beautiful running course.  This was our first run and Mark Stickley, owner of Runner’s Retreat, was a great help, as were the runners who gave us invaluable tips!  Next year the course will be more settled and we hope to draw more and more competitors in future years.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in this event and a special thank you to Michael R. Phelps & Associates, Virginia Realty Group, BF Saul Mortgage, Commercial Project Management, Preferred Choice Mortgage, Creekside Properties Management, LLC, Daniel Morgan Middle School PTO and especially the Daniel Morgan Builders Club who for the past 5 years has taken ARE under its wing!
